Khutba Love Between the Muslims
الحمد لله، الحمد لله نحمده تعالى ونستعينه، ونشكره تعالى ونستغفره ونستغيثه، نعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا ومن سيئات أعمالنا، من يهد الله فهو المهتد ومن يضلل فلن تجد له وليا مرشدا، ونشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك و له الحمد، يحيي ويميت، بيده الخير، وهو على كل شيء قدير، ونشهد أن سيدنا و مولانا محمداً عبده ورسوله، وحبيبه وصفيه، بلغ الرسالة وأدى الأمانة ونصح الأمة، النبي الأمي الذي أرسله الله بالهدى والدين الحق، بشيرا ونذيرا بين يدي الساعة، صلى الله عليه وسلم وعلى آله وأصحابه ومن تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين.
أما بعد! فيا عباد الله اتقوا الله حق تقاته ولا تموتن إلا وأنتم مسلمون.
يأيها الذين ءامنوا اتقوا الله وقولوا قولا سديدا يصلح لكم أعمالكم ويغفر لكم ذنوبكم. ومن يطع الله ورسوله فقد فاز فوزا عظيما.
اتقوا الله فيما أمر وانتهوا عما نها عنه وزجر.
يقول الله عزّ وجلّ في كتابه العزيز، بعد أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم:
هو الذي أيدك بنصره وبالمومنين وألف بين قلوبهم لو أنفقت ما في الارض جميعا ما ألفت بين قلوبهم ولكن الله ألف بينهم إنه عزيز حكيم.
‘He is the One who supported you with His help and with the believers and unified their hearts. Even if you spent everything on the earth you could not unify their hearts, but Allah has unified them. He is Almighty, All-Wise.’
Muslims, last we spoke about Jama’h and its importance in Islam, and of the necessity to establish the Deen by means of it. For the Jama’h to be strong Muslims have to be united. Their hearts have to be united in the love for Allah and His Messenger. The unification of the hearts is a blessing from Allah. He says:
واذكروا نعمة الله عليكم إذ كنتم أعداءً فألّف بين قلوبكم فأصبحتم بنعمته إخواناً
‘And remember Allah’s blessing to you, when you were enemies and He joined your hearts together so that you became brothers by His blessing.’
This refers specifically to the two tribes in Madina, the Auz and the Khazraj, who were fierce enemies to each other, but Allah unified their hearts in the Deen and the following of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. But it extends onto all the Muslims as He, may He be exalted, says:
إنما المومنون إخوة
‘The believers are brothers.’
This bond between the Muslims, which is the most fearful weapon against the enemies of the Deen, is strengthened and nourished by good behaviour towards each other, by applying the Sunna of the Messenger of Allah, who was the most perfect of creation, and by emulating the Sahaba in their behaviour amongst themselves. Allah says about them:
أشداء على الكفار رحماء بينهم.
‘Fierce to the unbelievers, merciful to one another.’
And He also says, may He be exalted:
يوثرون على أنفسهم ولو كان بهم خصاصة
‘They prefer them to themselves even if they themselves are needy.’
This ayat was revealed about a Sahabi from among the Ansar who hosted a Sahabi from among the Muhajirun, and gave him the little food he had, leaving his wife, children and himself without food for the night.
We must be constantly reminded of the importance of the preference for our brothers, and the concern for one another in order to attain the degree of unity and strength necessary to establish and spread the Deen of Allah.
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
ترى المؤمنين في توادهم وتراحمهم وتعاطفهم كمثل الجسد الواحد إذا اشتكى منه عضو تداعى له سائر الأعضاء بالحمى والسَّهَر
‘You see the believers in their affection, compassion and kindness to one another like a single body; if a part of it suffers, the rest of it reacts with fever and sleeplessness.’
We must strive to increase the love for one another by respecting each other, being concerned for each other, visiting each other, being generous to each other. For having love for one another is part of Iman, for loving the Muslims is part of Iman. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
والذي نفسي بيده لا تدخلون الجنة حتى تؤمنوا، ولا تؤمنوا حتى تحابوا. ألا أدلكم على شيء إن فعلتموه تحاببتم؟ أفشوا السلام بينكم.
‘By the One in Whose hand is my life, you will not enter the Garden until you have Iman, and you will not have Iman until you love one another. Shall I not direct you to something which, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread the greeting of peace among you.’
Another means of increasing the love for one another is indicated in the Hadith transmitted by Abu Huraira. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
تهادوا تحابوا
‘Give gifts to one another and you will love one another.’
Muslims, the benefits of loving one another, assisting and helping one another are countless both in this world and the next. By doing this hearts are brought together, the Muslims strengthened and Allah’s support and help comes to the Muslims collectively and individually.
رضي الله عنه قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: عن أبي هريرة
من نفس عن مؤمن كربة من كرب الدنيا ، نفس الله عنه كربة من كرب يوم القيامة ، ومن يسّر على معسر ، يسّر الله عليه في الدنيا والآخرة ، ومن ستر مؤمنا ستره الله في الدنيا والآخرة ، والله في عون العبد ما كان العبد في عون أخيه ،
‘Whoever relieves a believer of an affliction in this world Allah will relieve him of an affliction in the Day of Rising. Whoever makes things easy for someone in difficulty Allah will make things easy for him in this world and the next. Whoever covers the faults of a believer Allah will cover his faults in this world and the next. Allah helps the slave as long as the slave helps his brother.’
And it is also transmitted that he, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
لا تحاسدوا ولا تدابروا ولا تباغضوا وكونوا عباد الله إخوانا
‘Do not envy one another, to not turn your backs on one another, do not hate one another. And be, slaves of Allah, brothers!’
Muslims, follow the commands of Allah and His Messenger and apply the best behaviour towards one another, so that the love for the Muslims in Allah may grow, the Ummah be strengthened by it and Muslims may rise over other communities.
أقول قولي هذا و أستغفر الله العظيم لي ولكم ولسائر المسلمين من كل ذنب فاستغفروه فيافوز المستغفرين.
الحمد لله رب العالمين، وأشهد ألا إله إلا الله ولي الصالحين، والعاقبة للمتقين، ولا عدوان إلا على الظالمين، والصلاة والسلام الأتمان الأكملان على أشرف الأنبياء وإمام المرسلين، وعلى آله وأصحابه والتابعين، ومن تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين.
أما بعد!
يقول الله عزّ وجلّ:
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي أَسْرَى بِعَبْدِهِ لَيْلًا مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْأَقْصَى الَّذِي بَارَكْنَا حَوْلَهُ لِنُرِيَهُ مِنْ آَيَاتِنَا إِنَّه هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
“Glory be to Him who took His slave on a journey by night from the Masjid-al-Haram to the Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, in order to show him some of Our Signs. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.”
Muslims, next week, the 27th night of Rajab, which falls on the night of Wednesday the 29th, will be the night of the Isra and Mi’raj, the Night Journey and Ascent, the night in which the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, travelled to the Bait al-Maqdis in Jerusalem where he led all the Messengers in prayer and then ascended through the Seven Heavens into the presence of Allah, when he was given the gift of the Salat.
On Wednesday after Isha there will be a programme in this mosque to celebrate and commemorate this great event with recitation of Quran and dhikr and reading from the life of the Messenger. It will be followed by a meal. We invite all the Muslims to come and participate in this programme.
May Allah unify our hearts, increase our love for one another and strengthen the bond among us. And may Allah lift us in this world and the next and draw near to Him through that.
إنَّ اللهَ ومَلائِكَتَهُ يُصلُّونَ على النَّبِي يَا أَيُها الذينَ آمنوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وسَلِّمُوا تَسْليماً. اللهم صل على سيدنا محمد وعلى آل سيدنا محمد كما صليت على سيدنا إبراهيم وعلى آل سيدنا إبراهيم وبارك على سيدنا محمد وعلى آل سيدنا محمد كما باركت على سيدنا إبراهيم وعلى آل سيدنا إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد
وارض اللهم عن الخلفاءِ الراشدين المُرشدين الحنفاءِ ساداتِنا وأئمتِنا أبي بكر وعمر وعثمان وعلي ، وعن سائر الصحابة أجمعين، خصوصاً الأنصار منهم والمهاجرين، وعن التابعين وتابعي التابعين ومن تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين.
اللهم اهد أولات أمورِ المسلمين لما يرضيك ولاتباع سنة نبيك صلى الله عليه وسلم وثبت أقدامهم على الصراط المستقيم وأصلحهم يا رب العالمين.
اللهم بارك على شيخنا، و على أميرنا، وعلى جميع أمراء وزعماء المسلمين.
اللهم بارك على المسلمين في هذه المدينة ووفقهم لما تحبه وترضاه يا أكرم الأكرمين.
اللهمّ أَعِزَّ الْلإسلامَ والمُسِلمينَ (3) واَخْذُلِ الكُفْرَ والكافِرينَ، وانْصُرِ المُجاهِدينَ في سَبِيلِ اللهِ. واجْعَلْ كَلِمَتَكَ هِيَ العُلْيَا وكَلِمَةَ الكُفْرِ هِيَ السُّفْلى.
ربنا ءاتنا في الدنيا حسنة وفي الأخرة حسنة وقنا عذاب النار.
اللهم إنا نسألك فعل الخيرات وترك المنكرات وحب المساكين وإذا إردت بعبادك فتنةً فاقبضنا إليك غير مفتونين ولا مبدلين.
إن الله يأمر بالعدل والإحسان وإيتاء ذي القربى وينهى عَنِ الفحشاءِ والمُنكَرِ والبغي، يعظكم لعلكم تذكرون، ولَذِكْرُ اللهِ أكبر والله يَعْلَمُ ما تَصْنَعُون.
وقُومُوا إِلَى صَلاتِكُمْ يرحمكم الله
