Khutba on Jama’h

الحمد لله الحمد لله الواحد الأحد الفرد الصمد الذي له الحمد في السماوات والارض وعشياً وحين تظهرون،
أحمده تعالى وأشكره، وأستعينه وأستغفره وأشهد ألا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له شهادة أرجو بها النجاة يوم الوعيد، وأسعد بها يوم ينقسم الناس إلى شقي وسعيد، وأشهد أن سيدنا ونبينا وحبيبنا وشفيعنا محمداً عبده ورسوله وصفيه وخليله، وخيرته من خلقه وحبيبه، بلغ الرسالة وأدى الأمانة ونصح الأُمة، صلى الله عليه وسلم، وعلى آله الكرام البررة ، وصحابته الأئمة الأعلام، والتابعين ومن تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين.
أما بعد!
فيا عباد الله! اتقوا الله حق تقاته ولا تموتن إلا وأنتم مسلمون.
 يأيها الذين ءامنوا اتقوا الله وقولوا قولا سديداً يصلح لكم أعمالكم ويغفر لكم ذنوبكم. ومن يطع الله ورسوله فقد فاز فوزاً عظيماً.
اتقوا الله فيما أمر وانتهوا عما نهى عنه وزجر.
يقول الله عزّ وجلّ في كتابه العزيز، بعد أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم:
كنتم خير أمة أخرجت للناس تامرون بالمعروف وتنهون عن المنكر وتومنون بالله.

Muslims, Allah says in His Noble Book, the meaning of which is:
‘You are the best nation ever to be produced before mankind. You enjoin the right, forbid the wrong and believe in Allah.’

ويقول سبحانه:
واعتصموا بحبل الله جميعاً ولا تفرقواْ

And He also says:
‘Hold fast to the rope of Allah all together, and do not separate.’

روى الترمذي أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:
 أوصيكم بأصحابي، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم .. عليكم بالجماعة، وإياكم والفُرقة، فإن الشيطان مع الواحد، وهو من الإثنين أبعد، مَن أراد بَحْبوحة الجنة، فليلزم الجماعة.

At-Tirmidhi transmitted that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
‘I commend you to my companions, and the ones that come after them, and those that come after them. Stay with the Jama’h. And beware of separating, for Shaytan is with the one. And he is further from the two. And whoever desires the comfort of the Garden should hold to the Jama’h.’

عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال: من خرج من الطاعة وفارق الجماعة فمات، مات ميتة جاهلية.
وفي الصحيحين: فإنه مَن فارق الجماعة شبراً فمات، فميتة جاهلية.

Abu Hurairah related that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace said:
‘Whoever rebels against obedience, and splits away from the Jama’h, and dies in that state, dies a death of jahiliyya.’
And it is transmitted in both Bukhari and Muslim that the Messenger of Allah said:
‘Whoever splits away from the Jama’h even a handspan and dies in that state, that is a death of jahiliyya.’

وروي عن ابن عباس قال: قال رسول الله (ص): يد الله مع الجماعة. ومَن شذ شذ إلى النار.

It was transmitted from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah said:
‘The hand of Allah is with the Jama’h. And whoever splits away does so into the Fire.’
Muslims! These ayats and hadiths show the enormous importance of Jama’h; of being together as a single body of Muslims. Islam is a social reality. It is not an individual matter. It thrives and expands when Muslims are closely bonded. And the opposite is true. Separation and division is a cause, firstly of damnation for the individual, and secondly of weakening of the Ummah.
These hadiths warn against separating and splitting away from the main body of Muslims and rebelling against the authority, falling thus into the category of the Shia’, the mu’tazila and the rawafid.
On the other hand, all those who follow the Sunnah through the correct fiqh of one of the four madhahabs and has a sound and correct ‘aquidah belong to the Jama’h of the Muslims. However, it can hardly be said in this time that the Muslims form a single body, since there is no authority, no single rulership and no cohesion. However, the importance of it is still the same and me must be aware of it, and strive to make it a reality and implement it at whatever level we are able.

As we have mentioned in the hadith transmitted by Ibn ‘Abbas:

يد الله مع الجماعة

‘The hand of Allah is with the Jama’h.’
In other words, Allah is with the group and His help and mercy falls on them. For Allah loves those who gather and act in group for His Sake.
He says in Surat As-Saff:

إن الله يحب الذين يقاتلون في سبيله صفاً كأنهم بنيان مرصوص.

The meaning of which is:
‘Allah loves those who fight in His way in ranks like well-built walls.’
This refers particularly to Jihad. But it indicates the importance of acting cohesively and striving in that way for the sake of Allah, and it also indicates the love of Allah for the people that form these groups.
Muslims must come together for the sake of Allah and become supports to one another, based on the love for Him and the love for His Messenger, and the desire to establish His Deen and raise its banner.
Allah says in Surat At-Tawbah:

والمؤمنون والمؤمنات بعضهم أولياء بعض يأمرون بالمعروف وينهون عن المنكر ويقيمون الصلاة ويؤتون الزكاة ويطيعون الله ورسوله أولئك سيرحمهم الله إن الله عزيز حكيم. (التوبة 71)

Which means:
The men and women of the believers are friends to one another. They enjoin the right, forbid the wrong, establish the prayer, pay the zakat and obey Allah and His Messenger. They are the people on whom Allah will have mercy. Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.

وفي الصحيحين عن أبي موسى رضي الله عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال:
وشبك بين أصابعه. «المؤمن للمؤمن كالبنيان يشد بعضه بعضاً»
Abu Musa related that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
‘The believers are to one another like a building whose different parts reinforce each other. And he interlocked his fingers.’

Muslims, serve the Deen of Allah and safeguard yourselves by been in Jama’h for it is a great protection.
The Messenger of Allah said:
«إن الشيطان ذئب الإنسان، وإنما يأكل الذئب من الغنم القاصية»
Shaytan is like a wolf to mankind. And wolves only eat of the sheep that which is furthest from the main flock.

أقول قولي هذا و أستغفر الله العظيم لي ولكم ولسائر المسلمين من كل ذنب فاستغفروه فيافوز المستغفرين.
الحمد لله رب العالمين، وأشهد ألا إله إلا الله ولي الصالحين، والعاقبة للمتقين، ولا عدوان إلا على الظالمين، والصلاة والسلام الأتمان الأكملان على أشرف الأنبياء وإمام المرسلين، وعلى آله وأصحابه والتابعين، ومن تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين.
أما بعد!
روي عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال:
الجماعة رحمة والفُرقة عذاب
It’s been transmitted that the Prophet said:
‘Jama’h is a mercy. And separation is a punishment.’
Sayyidina ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said:

لا إسلام بلا جماعة، ولا جماعة بلا أمير، ولا أمير بلا طاعة

‘There is no Islam without Jama’h. And there is no Jama’h without an Amir. And there is no Amir without obedience to him.’
Jama’h is absolutely fundamental in Islam and necessary for it to be established.
This aspect of Jama’h is what the Companions had around the Messenger of Allah, and it is what allowed for the Deen to expand at a speed which astonishes whoever looks at it closely.
Muslims, stay together as a Jama’h, strive to strengthen it by bonding closely, with the intention of pleasing Allah and of worshipping Him in the way that it is due, and know that Allah, by this, will give you success and allow you to see Islam flourish once again.
We ask Allah to unite us as a strong Jama’h and, through that to give us success in establishing His Deen.

إنَّ اللهَ ومَلائِكَتَهُ يُصلُّونَ على النَّبِي يَا أَيُها الذينَ آمنوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وسَلِّمُوا تَسْليماً. اللهمَّ صَلِّ وسَلِّم وبارِك عَلَيْهِ وعلى آلِهِ وصَحْبِهِ  أجمعين.
وارض اللهم عن الخلفاءِ الراشدين المُرشدين الحنفاءِ ساداتِنا وأئمتِنا أبي بكر وعمر وعثمان وعلي ، وعن سائر الصحابة أجمعين، خصوصاً الأنصار منهم والمهاجرين، وعن التابعين وتابعي التابعين ومن تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين.
اللهم اهد أولات أمورِ المسلمين لما يرضيك ولاتباع سنة نبيك صلى الله عليه وسلم  وثبت أقدامهم على الصراط المستقيم وأصلحهم يا رب العالمين.
اللهم بارك على شيخنا، و على أميرنا، وعلى جميع أمراء وزعماء المسلمين.  
اللهم بارك على المسلمين في هذه المدينة ووفقهم لما تحبه وترضاه يا أكرم الأكرمين.
اللهمّ أَعِزَّ الْلإسلامَ والمُسِلمينَ (3)  واَخْذُلِ الكُفْرَ والكافِرينَ، وانْصُرِ المُجاهِدينَ في سَبِيلِ اللهِ. واجْعَلْ كَلِمَتَكَ هِيَ العُلْيَا وكَلِمَةَ الكُفْرِ هِيَ السُّفْلى.
ربنا ءاتنا في الدنيا حسنة وفي الأخرة حسنة وقنا عذاب النار.
اللهم آت نفوسنا تقواها وزكها أنت خير من زكاها أنت وليها ومولاها
اللهم إنا نسألك فعل الخيرات وترك المنكرات وحب المساكين وإذا إردت بعبادك فتنةً فاقبضنا إليك غير مفتونين.
اللهم لا تضعْ في مقامِنا هذا ذنبا إلا غفرْتَه، ولا عيباً إلا سترْتَه، ولا مريضا إلا شفيتَهُ وعافيتَه، ولا مسجونا إلا طلَّقْتَ سراحَه، ولا مسافرا في برِّك وبحرِك إلا سلِمتَهُ وغنِمْتَه.
إن الله يأمر بالعدل والإحسان وإيتاء ذي القربى وينهى عَنِ الفحشاءِ والمُنكَرِ والبغي، يعظكم لعلكم تذكرون، ولَذِكْرُ اللهِ أكبر والله يَعْلَمُ ما تَصْنَعُون.
وقُومُوا إِلَى صَلاتِكُمْ يرحمكم الله
