Mezquita de Sevilla
The Fundación Mezquita de Sevilla has been at the heart of the Muslim community in Seville for many years. Founded in 2005, it serves a community of more than 30,000 Muslims and is actively working toward the construction of a full Islamic Cultural Centre — a landmark project to restore the rightful presence of Islam in this great Andalusian city. The current mosque at Plaza Ponce de León reflects a vision of Islam as a developer of civilisation.

Dr. Asadullah Yate

A Cambridge-trained scholar and prolific translator of works from Arabic, Persian, German, and French. Dr. Yate’s translations include Al-Murshid al-Mu’een of Ibn ‘Ashir (the foundational text summarising Islam, Iman, and Ihsan), Islam in the School of Madina, and Al-Ahkam as-Sultaniyyah. Abdallah Robert Lawrence Luongo (1949–2012)

Born in Boston on 21 September 1949 and raised in New England, Abdallah Robert Lawrence Luongo embraced Islam in 1970 after meeting Shaykh Abdalqadir as-Sufi in California and performed Hajj in 1975. A scholar of what he called “Lit-Politics” — the intersection of great literature and political thought — he taught Language and Rhetoric at Dallas College in Cape Town and authored The Gold Thread (1995) and The Power Template (2011). His blog remains a valuable archive of his essays and reflections. He passed away on 13 August 2012, may Allah have mercy on him.
