About

The Jumu’a Mosque of Cape Town was founded by Shaykh Dr. Abdalqadir as-Sufi and the building was gifted by the Bukhari Foundation.

The Jumu’a Mosque’s Jama’at is young, mixed, dynamic and fast-growing, and there is a busy calendar of events, teaching and Da’wa at the Mosque.

The Jama’at of the Jumu’a Mosque would like to extend a warm welcome to all the Muslims of Cape Town and beyond – and of course, to anyone wishing to find out more about Islam. People enter Islam regularly at our Mosque.

Jumu’a Prayer

12:55 — First Adhan

Call to prayer. The mosque opens and the congregation gathers.

13:05 — Khatib Enters & Second Adhan

The khatib ascends the mimbar. Khutbah followed by Jumu’a prayer.

Community Lunch

The Jama’at shares a meal together after Jumu’a prayer every week — all are welcome.

Community lunch is not held during Ramadan, when iftar brings the Jama’at together in the evening instead.
